My Favorite Things

Recently, I became an affiliate for Amazon products, because why not… I already spend enough money on the site, might as well share my thoughts and reviews on what I buy. So this section of my website will be the things I have found and items I use daily to get me through the day. I have so many hobbies and activities that I online shopping is where I pick up what I need without having to spend all my time driving around town looking store to store to see who has what only to find out one place is out of one thing and another store has the other thing and so on and so forth. Amazon has saved my butt more times than I can count.

***For true arts and artistry though, I will visit many local individual vendors and artists. I prefer buying gifts and such, locally to give back to the community and support freelance artists in general. Even with the production of my books and the authors who work with me, I will always choose a friend or local artist to support rather than a corporate giant. But for every day items, that’s a different story.

Eryn’s Amazon Picks

Home Organization (and more Star Wars… because well, I love it!)

Amazon Collapsible Fabric Storage Cubes

*unfortunately the baskets are not sold with the shelving. They aren’t expensive though. It’s kind of nice that way you can add more, if you grab more shelves.

Stainless Steel Soap Bar

Get rid of all those unwanted cooking smells from your hands with this guy. I love this thing!

Aren’t they so cute!

Nutrition is where it starts

Amazing Grass Vegan Protein Powder

Being healthy is super important to me. I love eating good food, working out, and lifting weights when I can. One of my most favorite super food is making smoothies. When Summer is here I use tons of greens and fruits from my garden, but in the off months I rely on not just protein powders but ones that are full of fruits and greens. Amazing Grass is my favorite. It’s easy on my stomach, dairy-free and has 15g of protein per serving.

Carrington Farms Organic Flax Chia blend

I love adding flax and chia into my smoothies. They add a nutty taste and fiber to my creations, making me feel fuller for longer. Not to mention, the flax is full of all the good stuff that makes my hair shiny and strong. Can’t go wrong with that!

Nutribullet Pro 900-watt Blender

And what do I blend everything up with… this guy! I LOVE my Nutribullet. It comes with the blending base, the screw-on blades, and 3 different sized cups. The lids are interchangeable.

And it can be used for things other than smoothies. Just the other day I needed a small amount of nuts crushed for a recipe. One quick blast in the Nutribullet and I effortlessly had what I needed.

Little helpful tip – wash these the cups and blade out as soon as you finish using them…even sitting the dishwasher overnight makes them smell horrible and that old milk stench is tough to get out.

This is Halloween

Aleene’s Fabric Glue

I’m not the greatest seamstress. I can get by with a bit of thread and needle but for big pieces that I need only for a short time (like my costume below) I’ve found fabric glue works. It’s strong and stays put.

Relax on a Budget

Deep Tissue Massage Gun

This massager has been a godsend to us. My son is an avid athlete and often will spend the next day after a game our track meet sore. A few long minutes with this heated massager and he feels like a new person.

Casper Pillows

In my house we have at leasts a dozen rejected pillows. Between neck issues and just plain night comfort, we never had the perfect pillow. Some of these rejects were expensive too, like the Purple pillow. We’ve used down, cotton filled, memory foam, gel filled… you name it, we’ve tried it. Then one day, my husband came home with yet another pillow and with a roll of my eyes, I tried it out and ahhhh pure heaven! I was jealous of him for that pillow so much so that I needed to buy my own. That pillow was the Casper pillow and I will NEVER use another type again. Not only that, my husband’s had his for two years now, and I’ve had mine for a year… and they’re still good as new. No flattening, no bunching, nothing! It’s truly a dream.

Fuzzy Faux Fur Throw Blanket

What is relaxation without a warm, fuzzy blanket? Absolutely nothing! I don’t care what season it is, I have a blanket waiting on my couch. My favorite is this guy. It is perfect for chilly days or night and so snuggly you could die. I loved it so much, I bought a king sized one for my bed. It’s like heaven to sleep with.

Vivere Double Cotton Hammock with Space Saving Steel Stand, 450 lb Capacity

Is there anything better than a refreshing day outside, relaxing in a hammock? *Sigh* there truly isn’t and I love this guy. It’s sturdy, it’s strong, it doesn’t smell when it’s left out in the rain (by accident). This beautiful canvas hammock comes with the moveable stand if you’re like me and don’t have trees close enough together to string a hammock up. I actually prefer having the moveable stand too. I just move where I want to be whether in the sun or shade.

Oh and the dogs love it for cuddles!

RotoScrub Multi-purpose Cleaning Brushes

Chom Chom Roller Pet Hair Remover – Reusable!

This doo-hickey is literally one of the best hair removal tools for furniture. I have four dogs and each one sheds more than the other, meaning we have A LOT of hair. This picks up everything, empties easily and is reusable!

I’m a simple girl. I want to live in a lonely cottage somewhere in the middle of nowhere, but my husband isn’t. For example, our kitchen faucet broke one day. I said, hey go pick up a new washer (plastic ring thing that goes around the threads) to fix the sprayer He didn’t come home with a $.10 washer. He came home with a touchless, voice activated robot faucet. Now, this simple girl has gotten super used to and enjoys having my robot lady helping me run my house. She is kinda cool. Here are a few things she helps me run.

Moen Touchless/Voice Activated Kitchen Faucet

Sengled Smart Light Color Changing LED Lightbulb

Wall Plate Automatic LED Night Light

When we first moved into our house, we found that it was much darker than our previous place. That middle of the night bathroom trip proved to be especially difficult… lots of stubbed toes and walks into unfamiliar walls face first. We thought about regular night lights at first, until we found this cool little gadget. A wall socket plate that had an automatic LED light shining right on the floor. A plug wasn’t used, leaving outlet space in tact and it came on as soon as it got dark so we didn’t have to fumble with the switch. #1 Life Saver – well, at least toe and face saver!!

Echo Dot (5th Gen)

Oh Alexa… I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t want to bring an AI into the house. I’ve seen those movies and no, thank you. Buuuuuuuuut my son wanted the smart lights (see Sengled Smart Light entry) for his game room which meant he needed an Echo dot to control it. I had to admit that I was a little jealous that I could ask the robot to “turn on the lights” and she would. Plus, my lovely wireless speaker for playing music died (it was old) and guess what – Echo dot is a speaker system for music too. AND I could connect it to my son’s in the basement and call the kid up for dinner without screaming through the floor. All in all, she’s helpful. I mean, AI basically already controls us through our phone so might as well put it to work for us. Now if SkyNet comes for us… I’m outta here!

Just for the four legged ones

Portable Folding Pet Playpen

As many know, I love dogs and we’ve had a few tiny ones. My baby, Penny, a 5 lb Pomeranian was a rescue at 8 years old and wasn’t potty trained but wanted to be around us at night. We would prepare this little pen for her and she made her nighttime home here. It was an excellent place to keep her contained without it being cruel.

Mud Buster Portable Paw Cleaner

With 4 dogs and a muddy yard in the rain, this paw washer has been a God-sent! High recommend.

Water bottle with collapsible bowl

I had a thought one day when trying to give a dog some water about having an attachable bowl and told my friend about it. She said, “They have things like that. I have one. I’ll send you the link.” Sure enough, she was right and this one, right here is exactly what I was picturing! It’s my favorite dog accessory I own.

Slow Feeder Dog Bowl

style 1

My dogs used to gobble their food as fast as possible and that is not good for dog bloating. We found several styles of these feeder/puzzle bowls and the dogs eat slower and don’t belch as much.

style 2

Multiple Dog Leash

Talk about helpful… multi leash is the way to go when you have several dogs – like me. I have 3 Welsh Pembroke Corgis and a Pomeranian. This has one leash hand-hold and 3 offshoots for each dog. I’m about to by a 4th for the Pomeranian but first he had to learn how to walk on his own.

The only drawback that I’ve noticed is the offshoots get tangled and I have to unbraid them after a long walk. I think that really has to do with one of my corgis… she’s a wanderer and never walks in the straight line.

Around the house

Chefman Electric Egg Cooker

My husband has a great affinity for hard boiled eggs. They’re a heavily, quick protein for a breakfast on the go or a snack topped with hot sauce while he’s perusing the fridge. This little cooker is SO simple and the eggs don’t break and we can cook a few dozen in no time at all

Hey Dude Unisex Slip-Ons

I needed some shoes that were comfortable and summery and can go anywhere. Plus they were so cute!! Definitely recommend!

Revlon 1200w 3-pieceHot Air Kit

Now the Dyson dryer is pretty cool and the Shark is a cheaper version but still very good, according to those social media influencer, but this Revlon barrel dryer is my absolute favorite. I’ve had some version of this since 2000 with all sorts of hair lengths and styles. It’s tried and true product and i’ts affordable. The tiniest downside is the barrels give out before the dryer does. The notches that hold it on are tricky. Other than that, it’s a gem!

Neutrogena Anti-Aging Rapid Wrinkle Repair

I hate to admit this, but I’m getting old. Well, in my head I’m not old, but my skin and wrinkles appearing where they once was not tell a different story. I haven’t ventured into heavy duty creams and such, and definitely not botox (I don’t care if others use it but I don’t want to) so I have found this product works pretty well. I think it smooths out the skin and doesn’t burn and isn’t too oily. Its just a nice after face wash cream and makes my skin feel fresh overnight.

A Galaxy Far Far Away

R2D2 Toaster

This guy is just the cutest! His “I’m done” noises are R2’s little beeps and trills. Best Christmas present ever.

R2D2 Instant Pot

Every Star Wars nerd needs an R2 who cooks you food.

R2D2 Popcorn Maker & Bowl

I don’t own this one yet, but it just went on my wish list!

More wish list Star Wars kitchen appliances!

Home Office Needs

Amazon Basics Padded Office Desk Chair

I am SUPER picky about my office chairs. I saw this one and it checked all the boxes for the features I’d want, so I ordered it and yessss… it was perfect. My husband has even napped in it… Oh yeah, we got a second one for his desk too. I can’t recommend it enough.

And according to Amazon, it’s on sale for Labor Day.

Keurig K-Express Coffee Maker

I am not a huge coffee drinker. I like the foo-foo stuff with tons of oat or almond milk, and sugar-free syrups with a dash of espresso. BUT one day I had one of my husband’s co-workers come over and I kid you not, she reamed into me for not having coffee to offer. (She’s a lovely person, so don’t think I’m ragging on her – she wanted her coffee dammit!) but she did make me think… uh yeah, I should have coffee on demand. Plus, when family members visit, they will need some java too.

During the prime days last year, I grabbed one and I haven’t made anyone mad at me since! So whether you like coffee or just need it to appease guests, a Keurig is the way to go.

YKLSLH 2 Tiers Retractable Large Over The Sink Dish Drying Rack, for All Sinks

My husband loves to pick up inventions for the house and this dish rack was the coolest thing ever! There’s a place for soap, sponges, a leaning drying rack for cutting boards, a drip dry place for water bottles and their caps. You can even hang tongs up on the hooks. Highly recommend!

BIC 4-Color Original Retractable Ball Pens
Black Retractable Gel Pens 12 Pack with Micro Points, Uni-Ball 207 Signo Click Pens

I am very particular when it comes to pens. I write longhand when I am starting a book. Having a pen and notebook is portable, I can scratch out and still see what I need just in case I want to go back, and I have that connection of brain to fingers where my creativity strives best.

These pens are my favorite. I like the BIC multicolor one because I can edit with these and the colors have different codes.

As for the Signos, I love a good fine, sharp line, nice and black. The ink is water proof, smudge proof and fraud proof (for checks and such). I will go through at least half a dozen of these during the entirety of writing a novel.

Over the summer I performed in the musical Newsies and had to stage and work in the most uncomfortable 1800s dress boots. When I finally couldn’t take it I tried an even more uncomfortable pair of leather flats. So I came home and literally searched COMFORTABLE FLATS. I found these guys, ordered them and ladies – they are the MOST comfortable pair of dress shoes I now own.
